The Fairview Equity Partners Emerging Companies Fund is managed by Michael Glenane, Leo Barry and Tim Hall. The investment team collectively has in excess of 55 years’ investment experience in funds management and investment research.
Fairview is majority owned by its investment team, with the NAB Group holding a minority interest. This strengthens the alignment of interests of the investment team and their aim to maximise returns for investors.
Founding Executive Director / Portfolio Manager
Michael is a founding Director of Fairview Equity Partners and has over 27 years' experience in financial markets. Before founding Fairview Equity Partners, Michael was a Senior Investment Manager within Goldman Sachs JBWere Asset Management for a number of years with a broad range of sector responsibilities. Prior to joining Goldman Sachs JBWere Michael was a leading sell-side analyst for over a decade including several years as the number one healthcare sector analyst.
Leo Barry joined Fairview in early 2015 as a Senior Investment Manager and has over 11 years’ experience working professionally in financial markets. Leo adds further depth and capability to the team in terms of company contact and analysis and provides an additional voice to the collaborative process. Prior to joining Fairview, Leo was a small and mid-cap broker and a key member of the Institutional Equity Team at Merrill Lynch, where he covered a broad range of sectors. Leo was recognised as a leading broker within the finance industry and in 2013 won the East Coles award for the best small and mid-cap dealer.
Tim Hall joined Fairview in January 2017 as a Senior Investment Manager and has over 21 years’ experience in financial markets. Tim was a Senior Portfolio Manager at Bennelong Long Short Equity Management with responsibility for companies outside the ASX top 100. Previously he worked for 12 years at Acorn Capital, Australia’s first dedicated microcap manager, becoming Head of Research during a time in which Acorn grew funds under management from $30m to over $1.2bn. He has also worked as a sell-side analyst at Credit Suisse and HSBC, both in the UK and Australia, across various sectors and market cap ranges. Tim further enhances our team at Fairview with his experience in portfolio construction and rigorous process discipline.
